PLANNING MODE
How many times have I started a new diet, life-style change, challenge, exercise plan, group? I cant count. Literally too many to count!
Hello, My name is Kathleen. I am 55, a mother, grandmother, wife, employee, friend, sister, aunt and...I am Morbidly Obese. You say "Kathleen, that is harsh wording, be kind to yourself". After working in the medical field for years, that is one of my diagnosis's on many of my procedures and reports...many others too. It still doesn't make me feel any better.
I have had a food addiction for years. Now that I am older, it is harder to move. I need a new knee, my back gets this great muscle spasm thing when I do too much gardening. I have used food for comfort, boredom, entertainment and many other things for years.
My kids are adults now, and they have literally asked me to take care of myself so I can be around for them and their grand children. I feel bad when they say it, I think of being with them and the grand children, then someone brings cookies to work and I think. "I can start tomorrow". I have to QUIT THAT!
Positives to losing weight:
Health
I can hike, play and run around with the family.
I can wear a swimming suit and feel good.
Buying clothes in a normal store will be SO fun and satisfying.
I will feel accomplished and proud of myself, knowing I can overcome my addiction.
I wont be uncomfortable sitting in booths
I will be able to garden easier.
I will not be turned away from rides at Lagoon.
That is a small list for today. I am sure there are many more.
What are your Positives? Make a list and come with me on this ride!
